Emerging from the underground of Copenhagen’s vibrant rock and metal scene, NIRMATA are one of Denmark’s most compelling new forces in heavy music. Drawing inspiration from the intensity of modern heavy rock and the riff-driven weight of classic influences, the band crafts music that is powerful, melancholic, and relentlessly honest — a sound that doesn’t so much ask for your attention as demand it.

Rooted in themes of personal growth, societal challenges, and human connection, NIRMATA channel raw emotion into heavy grooves with a musical palette inspired by artists such as Karnivool, Mastodon, Black Peaks, and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. The band made their recorded debut in 2023 with a three-track EP featuring Empire, Bloom, and Circles, quickly gaining traction and building a devoted fanbase hungry for more. That momentum carried them into the studio throughout 2024, where they worked alongside producer Oliver Tue at Evergreen Studios to craft something far more ambitious.

The outcome is AVERNO — a seven-track debut album released September 5, 2025, that announces NIRMATA as a band operating well beyond their years.
