Some bands chase a sound. STORFØLT built a world. Pulsing synthesizers, dynamic instrumentation and vocals that move from whisper to full-bodied release — the four-piece make foreground music: the kind that insists on being felt rather than just heard, drawing its grandeur from the synth-driven rock and pop of the 1980s and filtering it through something distinctly Nordic and distinctly now.

STORFØLT introduced themselves on the Last Mile Record label with “Let Them Light Up” — a slow-building debut single rooted in post-punk that announced a band patient enough to let a song earn its own intensity. Danish tastemaker outlet Bands of Tomorrow flagged the track in their weekly roundup of essential new Danish releases, a fitting first nod for a band that doesn’t rush.

The follow-up, “Siblings,” went further into the band’s emotional core: a cinematic synthrock anthem about the complicated, often unspoken terrain between brothers and sisters — shared wounds, inherited memories, and a love that outlasts distance. Lines like “we’re haunted by each other’s moons” and “we should be nesting in each other’s arms” give the song a poetic, widescreen quality that’s both intimately personal and instantly universal. It’s the sound of a band who know exactly what they’re reaching for.

Behind the desk, both singles have been mixed and mastered by Frederik Uglebjerg, whose production work brings clarity and weight to STORFØLT‘s layered, synth-driven arrangements without ever sanding down their edges.

We signed STORFØLT in 2025, convinced that this is a band capable of carrying Nordic synthrock somewhere genuinely new — equal parts melancholy and melody, restraint and release. For fans of Editors, Interpol, The National, Sigrid and Cigarettes After Sex: this is the band you’ll want to have heard early.
